Cindy Buckmaster is the chair of Americans for Medical Progress (AMP), a national non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to public outreach and education about humane animal research.  AMP also strives to inspire the scientific community and future researchers through their engaging website, materials, in presentations.  Dr. Buckmaster received her PhD in Neurobiology and behavior, and in addition to being chair of AMP is also the director of the Center for Comparative Medicine and associate professor in molecular physiology and biophysics at Baylor College of Medicine, and vice president of the Texas Society for Biomedical Research.  Dr. Buckmaster previously served as the RLATg-AALAS President, and her impassioned and enthusiastic presentations have been featured at such venues as the AVMA convention.
